Oral Sedation Dentistry
If you feel stressed or anxious about dental visits, or if you experience significant fear that keeps you from visiting the dentist, you aren’t alone. About 40 million American suffer from dental fear. In fact, even with major advancements in dentistry, statistics show that for the past 50 years, the level of dental fear in the US has stayed the same. We understand your fear and will help you overcome it. Our entire team is dedicated to making your dental treatment comfortable and rewarding. We want you to have confidence in us so that you can prioritize oral health without fear.
Since the 1840s, dentists have used nitrous oxide (laughing gas) to calm dental fear and reduce or eliminate pain. Nitrous oxide is still used for this purpose, and we will provide nitrous oxide upon request.
Oral conscious sedation is a newer form of anti-anxiety treatment. For conscious sedation, we administer an oral sedative combined with nitrous oxide. We can monitor your level of comfort and increase or decrease the nitrous oxide accordingly. Conscious sedation has helped many of our patients overcome dental phobia and receive the dental care they need.
